SmartElex VCNL4040 Proximity Sensor Breakout -20cm
The SmartElex VCNL4040 Proximity Sensor Breakout –20 cm is a compact digital Proximity Sensor designed for precise IR-based object detection and ambient light measurement. Powered by the VCNL4040, this IR Proximity Sensor can qualitatively detect objects up to 20 cm with no dead zone, reading accurately right up to the sensor face.
Along with proximity sensing, the integrated ambient light sensor makes it suitable for applications like automatic dispensers, faucets, touchless interfaces, and light-aware projects.
With solder-free connectivity and optional 0.1″ pins for breadboards, it’s an easy-to-use, reliable solution for modern electronics, IoT, and DIY systems.
Note: The I2C address of the VCNL4040 is 0x60, which is hardware specified. A multiplexer/Mux is required to interface with numerous VCNL4040 sensors via a single bus.
