Official Arduino Uno R3 SMD Microcontroller Board A000073

The Arduino Uno Rev3 SMD is a versatile microcontroller board based on the ATmega328P, presented with its main chip in a surface-mount device (SMD) package.

This Arduino Uno Rev3 board is equipped with everything needed to support the microcontroller: 14 digital input/output pins (6 of which can be used for PWM), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz ceramic resonator, a USB connection for programming and power, an external power jack, an ICSP header for advanced programming, and a convenient reset button.

It simplifies getting started; users can simply connect it to a computer via a USB cable or power it is using an AC-to-DC adapter or battery.

A key difference in the Uno series, including this Arduino Uno Rev3 SMD version, is its departure from the FTDI USB-to-serial driver chip, instead utilizing an ATmega16U2 for this function.

The Rev3 iteration introduces several enhancements such as a more robust RESET circuit and the standardized 1.0 pinout. This pinout adds dedicated SDA and SCL pins near AREF for TWI communication, and an IOREF pin near RESET, which allows shields to adapt to the board's operating voltage, ensuring broader compatibility with future shields designed for different voltages.
