3DR Radio Telemetry 433MHz 500mW(X6)

This set of 3DR Radio Telemetry Module 433MHz 500mW allows you to establish a connection between a flight controller and a USB or UART-enabled device, such as a computer, laptop, or tablet with USB compatibility (OTG).

The latest version 2 radios no longer require a separate Air/Ground module, as both transceivers can now use both UART or USB connections, and support both modes.

This radio set not only allows you to view real-time data, such as live GPS position overlaid on a map, system voltage, heading, waypoint navigation, and even an artificial horizon, but also offers much more.

By using an open-source MAVlink based ground station software, you can even fly your aircraft with a joystick via your computer and update settings in real-time. Alternatively, you can use it for your DIY projects that require a wireless Serial interface.

This kit is cost-effective, has longer range, and offers superior performance. The system operates on the 433MHz band and provides a full-duplex link using HopeRF’s HM-TRP modules running custom, open-source firmware.

Features

• MAVLink protocol framing status documents

• Frequency modulation and Spread Spectrum (FHSS)

• Self-adaption to time division multiplexing

• Support LBT and AFA

• Configurable duty cycle

• Built-in error correcting code(up to 25% data bit error)

Setup Guide: 3DR Radio Telemetry with Pixhawk/APM

Step 1: Connect the air module to the Pixhawk or APM telemetry port using the provided cable.

Step 2: Connect the ground module to your PC using the USB cable.

Step 3: Install the required USB drivers (FTDI or Silicon Labs CP210x, depending on your module).

Step 4: Open Mission Planner or QGroundControl on your computer.

Step 5: In Mission Planner, go to Initial Setup → Optional Hardware → 3DR Radio.

Step 6: Select the COM port for the ground module and click Connect.

Step 7: Press Load Settings to read the module parameters.

Step 8: Adjust settings such as frequency, air speed, and net ID if needed (must match on both modules).

Step 9: Click Save Settings and disconnect after configuration.

Step 10: Power on your drone — the air and ground modules will link automatically, indicated by steady green LEDs.

Step 11: Confirm live telemetry data (GPS, attitude, battery, etc.) in Mission Planner or QGroundControl.
